mrburn_icoEver get a sunburn?  Prefer to avoid them in the future?  Mr. Burns has you covered!

Mr. Burns combines information about your skin type and any sunscreen you're wearing with a realtime UV light measurement to let you know before the burn sets it!
Here's a little demo;

Mr. Burns uses a Propeller Platform USB and LCD UI. You'll also need a Blue LED, 22pf cap, and a battery box.

If you've got a Propeller Platform SD and LCD UI, you can try it out by downloading the code below.  Just copy to a microSD and turn it on.

I like this idea. Does it continuously measure the compounded exposure (like a radiation badge), or does it set a timer just based on the UV levels measured during set-up?

No - I’m cautious to dynamically re-calc exposure because I don’t think skin is equally sensitive throughout an exposure, but I couldn’t find any research on what the exposure curve is. It would be pretty cool, though, and not hard to program.

Is there a way I could buy this product? I am not very good at elecronic building unfortunately.
