At 3 inches by 0.25 inches, the PowerTwig is a tiny way to add 5V and 3.3V power to a breadboard or protoboard project. 3 sets of headers let you connect to Vin (power straight from your power adapter), 5V & 3.3V. You can also solder wires directly into the output locations for a hardwired touch for finished projects. Aluminum electrolytic & ceramic capacitors provide power stability, and the 2.1mm power jack lets you connect 6V-10V power adapters. Maximum total current rating is 800mA, perfect for prototyping and handheld projects.

The PowerTwig comes almost ready to go - the surface mount parts are already soldered, you just need to solder on the included power jack and pin headers. Once you've added them, here are the power connections;You'll also need a 6V-10V power adapter - the PowerTwig includes a 2.1mm power jack, which works great with the adapter we stock.

The first set of headers (Vin) can be used to connect your power adapter to the breadboard. You can also wire your power source directly to those headers, bypassing the power jack. Consider soldering a 9 volt battery clip to the Vin header location for handheld projects.
