Description
The Propeller Platform USB is an open-source electronics prototyping platform combining the Parallax Propeller, power, and a USB programming interface in a modular, breadboard-friendly format.
Specs: * 80Mhz 8-Core Parallax Propeller with removable 5MHz crystal * 64kb EEPROM for long-term program and data storage * 5V and 3.3V 1.5A Voltage Regulators accept 5.5v min. power input * Comes with a 2.1mm barrel power jack connector and screw terminal connector * 2.8" x 2.5" footprint with pin sockets to add additional Platform modules or connect to a breadboard What can you do with the Propeller? The Prop is multi-core microcontroller with eight 32-bit cores and 32 Input/Output ports. It's awesome at multi-tasking, advanced audio, and has a built-in video generator. It can be programmed in Basic, Spin, C, or several other languages. Here are a few example videos; RoboticsGaming and GraphicsAudio & wav playback How do you get started? 1 - Pick up some hardware; The Propeller Platform USB is great. You'll also want a breadboard or ProtoPlus module. 2 - Download the software; You can develop for the Propeller with Windows, Mac, or Linux. If you need USB drivers, they're here. 3 - Write your program; The Propeller Manual is a great place to start. Also, the Education kit labs will help show you how the Propeller works and how to use it in your project. Make It!
The Propeller Platform USB comes pre-assembled - you just need to solder on the included power connector, a 5.5v-12v power adapter (or battery box) and a USB cable.
